Thumbs up Yarrr! A new topic :D

Wohoo!
Haha, just wanted to check what everyone is up to and whom is still checking the boards?

Myself I am hitching around New Zealand (www.sibbethehitcher.com) but flying home on the 30th already, couldnt afford the ticket all the way home so flying to Frankfurt and hitching home from there
Was planning to stay here a year, but plans change.. mainly because my GF went home when we were supposed to fly to NZ. So will go home and try to find some work up in Norway with her and save up some money so we can go travelling again! Africa next year is the plan, my sis is moving to Uganda by the end of the summer so perfect opportunity

On the game from things doesnt look to good, been playing some Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Theme Hospital on my netbook, also the first part of the remake of Monkey Island.
Last game I played before I left Sweden in October was Dead Space, such a wicked game! Sat half the night the night before we were flying just because I wanted to finish the game before we left.
My brother has my computer now though, and I cant afford a new one. But on the other hand he havent paid me for it yet :P

So many games I want to play right now, wanna do some casual LotrO again.
Really really want to get a hold of BF:BC2 and get online with it, though I usually play these kind of games with my brother nowadays so dont know how thats gonna work out with only one computer
Other games I am hoping to get some time to play is Mass Effect and Dragon Age, also want to finish playing Fallout 3. Gave up the last time because my comp kept on crashing but I figured out why just before I left (GFX overheating).

Whats everyone else up to?

I am still checking off course. Currently preparing for the move back to Holland, so I am happy. I can't wait to buy 2 new bicycles for the kids so they can become mobile again, instead of having to do everything by car. There is something so say for a small, organized, flat country like Holland.

Anyway, games! Not subscribed to anything now.....just cancelled my WoW account, was not doing much lately. I do log into a nice Everquest 1999 retro emulation server though, the Emu that is truest to how EQ once was. Without the crap of some NPC eating your hard earned Quest items without a word, off course. But damn! Slow xp, death penalty that sucks hardcore, needing other players again for ports, invis, corpse recoveries, rezzes, binding in a new location, it is lovely. And it is the busiest server of all Emu's with up to 500+ playing simultaneously. Constant OOC-ing for groups in Guk or Mistmoore, people wanting to buy Banded armor and shit. nice. Off course this is a total trip down memorylane and I can do that only for like 20 minutes at a time, and then log out. I will never seriously play on this server, EQ has come and gone.

Unfortunately, this is how I think of the entire MMO genre. Come and gone for me at least, not as a genre itself. I mean, I can look forwards somewhat to SWToR from Bioware, because I expect a quality RPG a la Dragon Ages with a Mulitplayer component, but my days of "being in another world" are over, I think.

Do not have time to really commit myself to a Guild anyway and a MMO quickly becomes a ratgher lonely and boring experience without one.

Soooooo, been playing the DLC's for Dragon Age (way too short, ripoff) and will probably buy teh expansion pack soon. I am thinking of buying Just Cause 2, good reviews and I kinda liked Just Cause 1 (played it for a couple hours). Crazy fast gameplay, driving around, destruction, yumm!

Copernicus, the game from 38 Studios run by Curt Shilling, and with a heavy dev-team is also something I am looking forward to. The backbone/Lore of the game is entirely in the hands of R.A. Salvatore, the Fantasy writer who invented Drizzt, the Dark Elf and build a humongous amount of Lore around it. Both Schilling as well as Salvatore are pretty old school in their thinking about Fantasy and MMO's and I am hoping for a quality RPG. It is already known that it will be classic Fantasy, ELves and Dwarves and shit which is fine with me.

And then there is Heroes of Telara which sounds interesting, from TRion, a large startup company also with some interesting names in it like Bill Trost (the guy that actually made old EQ so cool), and Jon van Caneghem, the creator of the Might and Magic series.

But all these games will not be released in 2010 so I will have to bide my time with single player games and revisit olf MMO's.

Will keep you posted!

The first time i've played with TFH guys : Dark Age of Camelot, Merlin.
I had a lot of hope and esperance for ADLN on this game. We were supposed to do something huge there. But if i had to choose one word to sum-up what this game was for ADLN, it would be something like : Catastrophic.

At the end, even our core members had left. And the only guys that were still around, playing and supporting the guild were the TFH guys.

I remember having fun with Mord and Bulge and a bunch from TFH. Hopefully they were there !

I would really like to see TFH alive and kicking

Omg there is still some activity here

Sooooo lifewise, still in London, changing job for the second time in a year (so as I'm nearing the end of my current job, i'm browsing the internet ALOT, so i finally end up here )

Gamewise... 2 years ago I started playing on a private UO server (defiance) emulating the gameplay from circa 2000, was quite fun actually, played for about a year.
Now I bought Starcraft2, playing with my highschool mates I used to play SC & Broodwar with, that's quite fun. Now the trick is that they gave a WoW voucher with the box, and my GF started playing, so I'm on WoW too now (Kadghar EU/Alliance) for the last month or so... only level 41 Mage Gnome and learning

I don't know about future games... I'm quite busy gamewise atm ... I'll see when I get bored of WoW, but it's more addictive than anything else ^^
