Anyone watch it?

I tried to, but had to leave and couldnt watch it all.

From what I saw of it, it was nothing but a speech for re-election and wasnt focused on any real problems we have at the moment.

He talked about Iraq a little bit, but then again last year's state of the union he said "Iraq has (forget number) poison gas, (forget numbeR) of nuclear weapons, ect ect" and this time he stated what we actually did find.. the best he could come up with was something along the lines of plans for an organization that might have weapons of mass destruction plans....

He talked about steroids too.. wtf? What does steroids have to do with anything? Or drug testing in school for that matter? He wants to give 20million to schools for drugtesting "to save children's lives".. yah thats real good, hey jimmy come over here and pee in this cup in front of the big police officer. News flash, all drugtesting in school will do is make more kids drop out. Trust me, I went to a school that drug tested, and all it did was make kids who would usually have been successful in life drop out of school.

The thing that got me more than anything else was how he talked about how much danger we are in, and how we are not safer after Iraq....

Also last year he said he wanted to put millions of dollars into AIDS research for countries in Africa, and for cleaner air, and electric and hydroelectric car research. But guess what? He didnt even mention any of that again, nor did he even attempt to put any money where his mouth was.

This president needs to go... impeach bush.. he lied too.

All of Bush's speeches were so fuckin flowery, with lots of time for people to cheer over such a wonderful nation with such wonderful plans :P I'm not surprised he said that the U.S. is still unsafe after Iraq... looks like they're going to stop more terrorists (read: invade a country and take over its oil supply).

I don't know about the aids thing, but I think some money and regular funding DID go into hydroelectric car research.. the FreedomCar's been bouncing around, and I've often heard talk of initiatives of the plan.

We're having political problems of our own in Ontario. The new premier to be elected, Dalton McGuinty, is a pencil-necked retard who is going back on everything he said. He just gave away a bunch of beautiful parkland for 30-40,000 homes (not like you couldn't find the space somewhere else..) and a bunch of other shit. They said they were going to work on auto insurance, but I think they're only going to freeze rates.. that means my yearly insurance can't go over $5600 a year! WOW. THANKS FOR NOTHING. And what's more goddamn frustrating are all the Canadian sheep that had the stupidity to vote for him, and our retarded voting system, AND our shitty ass voter turnout. I hate this fucking population sometimes...

Anyway.. I could rant forever :) Politicians are so fucking ignorant it's mind-boggling.. and there's not much we can even do about it, unless we were to become assassins that kill politicians and re-instate other ones at our will. Which doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Or we could become politicians ourselves and beat them at their own game!

Heh, I know how you feel, Horth. Bush is just like that guy, except instead of destroying parkland, he destroyed Iraqi lives. Plus, our voter turnout is the lowest percentage in the world! Wow!

I knew Bush wasn't going to say anything except "reelect me" in his speech, so I didn't watch it at all. I figure I'll read a summary and look up anything that interests me in detail.
