[9/4/02, 3:15pm PT] AC2 BETA HALTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
We have temporarily halted the AC2 Beta until we can finish the transition to our Beta 2 phase. This has been a tough decision, but we want to avoid frustrating our players while we address the problems hindered the Beta last weekend.
The Beta will be halted perhaps as long as 5PM Pacific time Sept. 6. However, we may restart the Beta up to a day earlier than that. We now have a new update of AC2 that we are trying out on our "Green" test world to see if it is solid. We may invite some players to play a "preview" of the update on our Green world, though this will not be the grand re-opening you've been waiting for.
Please launch AC2 or visit the AC2 Beta Community website to see our latest estimate of when we will reopen the main "Red" world. We will give at least 8 hours' notice before we re-open the Red world.
We apologize to all of those who have been playing, or eagerly awaiting to play, the Beta. We want the Beta to be a stable experience free of undue frustration. We will come back more ready than ever to let you really get in, play, and help us finish this game
